How to Use Collinite 476S Super DoubleCoat Auto Wax

Always test in a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure the desired result. Ensure the vehicle surface is clean and feels lukewarm to the touch before beginning — do not apply in direct sunlight or on a hot surface.

Using a foam wax applicator pad, apply a very thin, even coat of No. 476S to one clean section no larger than 2×2 ft at a time. Thin application is essential — the key word in the instructions is THIN. Over-application makes removal more difficult and does not improve protection. As the wax begins to dry and haze (typically within 1–3 minutes), buff it off using a soft, dry GreenZ All Purpose Microfiber Towel or a soft cotton towel. Work panel by panel across the entire vehicle. For an added layer of shine and durability, a follow-up coat or a maintenance spray of Collinite 845 Liquid Insulator Wax can be applied to extend protection further.

Surface Compatibility and Preparation

No. 476S is safe for use on exterior gel coat, fibreglass, clear coat, single-stage and lacquer paints, highly finished wood, and clean unblemished painted and unpainted metals including chrome, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, and brass. It is not recommended for use on rubber, non-skid surfaces, black trim, vinyl, glass, or non-painted plastic.

For best results, prepare the paint surface before waxing. For severe paint defects and deep scratches, start with GreenZ XtremeCut Compound 350 and a GreenZ Compressed Wool Pad. For light swirl marks and minor scratches, use GreenZ HeavyCut Compound 600 with a GreenZ Hybrid Orange Medium Cutting Foam Pad. Finish with GreenZ UltraFinish Polish 4500 and a GreenZ Hybrid Black Finishing Foam Pad on a DA polisher to bring the paint to a mirror finish before applying the wax.

Note: No. 476S is not recommended for use on rubber, black trim, vinyl, glass, or non-painted plastic. Tape off these areas before application. Always apply in thin coats and buff off once the wax has hazed — do not allow it to dry completely on the surface as removal will become more difficult.
