How to Use Collinite 845 Liquid Insulator Wax

Collinite 845 comes in a heavy-duty 16oz bottle with a safety cap. The wax has a thick consistency – to bring it to the thin consistency needed for proper application, gently warm the bottle by placing it in the sun or immersing it in a hot water bucket (never boil). Shake well to ensure an even consistency before applying.

For easy dispensing, pour the warmed wax into a smaller dispenser bottle. Apply very thin coats – the product goes a long way and less is more. Over-application makes removal more difficult. Apply panel by panel using a foam wax applicator for hand application, or use a GreenZ Hybrid Black Finishing Foam Pad on a DA polisher at low speed for machine application.

Allow the wax to dry to a haze for approximately 40 to 50 minutes. Use the swipe test to confirm readiness – swipe a finger across a panel and if the area is clean and shiny, the wax is ready to be removed. Buff off with a soft microfiber towel such as the GreenZ All Purpose Microfiber Towel for best results. For machine removal, use a microfiber bonnet over a lambswool pad.

Surface Preparation Recommendation

For best results, prepare the surface before waxing. For severe scratches, use GreenZ XtremeCut Compound 350 with a GreenZ Compressed Wool Pad or GreenZ Hybrid White Heavy Cutting Foam Pad. For minor scratches, use GreenZ HeavyCut Compound 600 with a GreenZ Hybrid Orange Medium Cutting Foam Pad. Finish with GreenZ UltraFinish Polish 4500 and a GreenZ Hybrid Black Finishing Foam Pad on a DA polisher to achieve a mirror finish before applying the wax.

Note: During hot climate, the wax may soften and expand slightly, which can cause minor leakage during transit. This is completely normal and does not affect product quality or performance.
